Revisiting My July Goals: Hello September!!

I set a lofty goal of $3000.00 gross for my eBay sales in July of this year. Did I reach that goal? Ahhh.....no but it sure was close!! My gross sales were $2225.00 or 74% of the $3000.00 goal.

Last month my gross sales were $1086.00 or 36% of the $3000.00 goal.I had a 49% increase over last month.

I also set a goal to get my listings up to 1000 by the end of the year. At the beginning of July, they were hovering at 500. As of last night, they were just over 650. I have been listing at least 5 items daily. I truly believe this has helped my sales. Listing, listing, listing, even if it is a few items a day has definitely helped me to reach my goals.

Here are a few of my sales from last week:

I don't usually look for concert t-shirts. Last week was the exception. I found two Pantera shirts. At first, I had no clue if this was even a band. But I checked completeds on eBay and determined that the shirts were worth the $1.49 investment.

This shirt sold within a day for $49.99. Free ship

Again, I usually don't buy random dinner plates. But I found the name John Zak on the back and I recalled he designs dinnerware for Disney.

These plates were $0.50 each. And they dingy looking, covered with utensil marks. Bar keeper's friend works wonders on cleaning the utensil marks.

A set of two sold for $34.99 shipping paid by customer

Working on eBay Store Categories

The last two days, I have been working on my store categories and making subcategories. I pretty much have my women's wear category where I want it. It has the following sub-categories or (level 2) categories.

I am pretty happy with the Women's Wear Category for now.

Category: All Categories > Women's Wear
Category (level 2)# of Subcategories
Category name: Blouses Shirts0
Category name: Dresses Skirts 0
Category name: Pants0
Category name: Purses0
Category name: Shoes0
Category name: Lingerie0
Category name: Plus Size0
Category name: Scarves0

What I am working on now is the mug cup category. I love to buy and sell coffee cups and mugs! No real reason why, I am just drawn to them.

Here is a list of my mug categories:

So far I have about 149 mugs listed. There were some auctions that recently finished, most of which were mugs. The pictures of them are really crappy, so will be taking "new" and hopefully better pictures of them.

They will be relisted. Again. Having to re-take photos will put me behind in increasing my listings. But that is okay. There are more listings that need to have better pictures besides just my mugs.

I have been listing my Fire King Collection. I have tons of it. Talk about OCD! I had to have every piece of that stuff!

When my mom passed, she had so much glassware that she collected, the prospect of selling it overwhelmed me. I ended up donating it all to Goodwill. So, I am trying to NOT burden my family with all my Fire King. And I can spend that money now :-)

Here is a screen shot of some of the Fire King I have listed. The plates are multiples. Some styles have 15 plates, some have 6, and so on. So one listing pretty much take care of it.

Some of the listings are best off, and some are not. I think by Christmas it will all be gone. Fingers crossed!

Time to take more pictures......

Hay Thrifting!

Cleaning Up My eBay Store

I have been working on cleaning up my eBay store. My first step this morning is to work on all my categories. All of my category titles are in capital letters. I have gone back and edited a great majority of my category titles and changed them from capital letters to regular.

Now I am going to go to each category on a daily basis and tweak, cleanup and evaluate each listing in that category. I am also going to add subcategories in each category. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what category the item I am listing is going to go into. So I have added four additional categories to help with my listing process.

The categories I have added are the following; for her, for him, for children and special values. I think that this will cover just about any item I am listing and that I have a hard time putting into a particular category. It always seems like I have items that I can't find a place for And end up in the "other" category.

Today I am working on the "Women's Clothing" category. I have added sub-categories to include shirts-blouses, pants, dresses-skirts, shoes,plus size,scarves , purses,and lingere.

Now to get busy listing and fill up the sub categories with my latest haul from a local thrift store. The store was having a fill a bag for 10.00 ( with clothes). The bag is similar to the cloth like grocery store bags you can buy for 0.99 cents. This thrift charges $2.00 but you can use the bag again and again.

I managed to stuff the bag full of 26 clothing items that included name brand dresses, Levi jeans, scarves, and a couple of men's jackets and shirts. When you break it down, I ended up spending about 0.50 cents an item.

Clothes are not my favorite things to list, as you have to include measurements. I hate to measure anything. But, I love to ship clothes, slip them into a poly bag and off they go!
